Why Clients Choose Seven Oaks Therapy

I was at the lowest point in my life, and Rachel helped me.

“I remember Rachel saying,  “I can guide you, yet you have to do the work!” She cares about her clients, and never will give up on you! Even today, I still use the tools that she taught me years later!! She gave me my life back!!!”

– M.F., Past Client

Nearly a decade ago, I found myself in a crisis.

“Rachel was the beacon of light God used to direct me in the way to go. Rachel guided me through the process of rebuilding myself through sound Biblical counseling. Her guidance through those deep waters will never be forgotten and the fruits of her counsel are evident now as I have a healthy, thriving life.”

– T.H., Past Client

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never talked to anyone. I’m used to handling things on my own. Aren’t people who go to therapy weak?

Not at all. People who ask for help know when they need it and have the courage to reach out fare better. Everyone needs help now and then. In our work together, we’ll help you explore and identify your strengths and how to implement them to reduce the influence of the problems you are facing.

What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?

A friend or family member who is attuned to you and your story can help so much! In fact, this kind of support is vital to your flourishing. A licensed therapist, on the other hand, has the training, skills, and experience in identifying root issues that cause the symptoms you are experiencing. Then they have the tools and skills to help people heal the underlying emotional wounds.

Why shouldn’t I just take medication?

Medication can be effective but it alone cannot solve deep underlying issues. Sometimes medication is needed for stability in conjunction with therapy and research shows good results for this in some mental health diagnosis. However, medications come with side effects that need to be considered in the overall picture of a healthy life. Talk to your doctor and talk to a trusted and licensed therapist to decide the best pathway for you.

How does it work? What do I have to do in sessions?

Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual. At Seven Oaks Therapy, we tailor our therapeutic approach to your specific needs and according to best practices. For EMDR clients, time and effort is put into education about the process and what is needed for full engagement of clients before the therapy is implemented.

How long will it take?

Time of treatment varies and may depend of several factors:

  • Your symptoms
  • Your history
  • Your goals
  • What type of therapy you are seeking

Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them. Your therapist will be able to work with you to create a treatment plan so that you can know to the best of everyone’s ability, what the course of treatment will look like for you and you can estimate the cost of investment on your part in time, energy, and financial investment.

I want to get the most out of therapy. What can I do to help?

Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success. The best way to get the most from therapy is to be honest in your intake about what you want and need. Your therapist will educate you on how to come prepared if needed.

Do you accept insurance?

Seven Oaks Therapy accepts all major credit cards, cash, and HSA/FSA cards as forms of payment. A valid credit card is required for scheduling an appointment. While we do not accept insurance as payment for therapy, you may be eligible to receive out-of-network reimbursement for your therapy session with us. Check with your insurance carrier to see if you qualify for out-of-network benefits. Your therapist will provide a superbill for your therapy sessions if needed.

Our Mission

The Seven Oaks mission is to help women and teen girls heal from trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress using evidence-based therapy and treatments to improve mental, emotional, and relational health.
